Mostly sunny and clear but few times a year it may rain in the deserts and snow in
the mountains . Higher elevation in the mountains have continental climate with
frequent temps close to freezing even in spring and fall . Because of low humidity
during winter, daytime and nighttime temperatures in the desert regions range from
below freezing in the morning to pleasant low to mid 20C in the afternoon. Spring
and fall temps can reach mid 30C during the day and pleasant mid teen to mid 20C
mornings
Summer temps can reach up to 50C which is the reason we seize operations during
summer months from late May till October 1st
We recommend layering your clothing to compensate for wide range of temperatures
during the day and change of elevation
The routes are mostly hard packed surface with loose gravel and sand on the top of
it. Deep loose sand is found on the bottom of dried up washes and creeks and in the
valleys of red rock country in Four Corners area. Expect steep ascents and descents
since Arizona is a canyon country . To ride endless unpaved roads and trails of
Arizona you will need median to expert off road riding experience .
No. Our motorcycles are not designed for two up off road riding and have no
provisions for a passenger like foot pegs and grab rails.
You have to be 25 years old
Motorcycle endorsement is required on your US drivers license or international
motorcycle license for foreign customers is required
We recommend you own and ride enduro or adventure type of bike. Crashing due to
inexperience is never fun
250 miles or 400 kilometers is included for each day you rent the bike. There is 10
cents/mile charge above 250 mile limit. The mileage limit is to discourage highway
touring which our bikes are not designed for.
Each bike rented will require $1500 damage deposit on renters credit card. The
deposit is 100% refundable if there is no damage to the bike. If you damage the bike
, the cost of parts and labor to repair the damage will be deducted from the deposit
and balance will be refunded to the renter.
Call emergency services first and get medical attention if needed. Call us as soon
as possible. It is your responsibility to get the bike back to us before end of your
rental. We will promptly start insurance claim and repair process.
Keep in mind that most of Nevada , Utah and Arizona back-country does NOT have
network coverage. We recommend you carry a satellite device like SPOT , Delorme or a
satellite phone in case of emergency.
You are responsible for tire repairs while renting the bike. We rent rider survival
kit containing tool kit , tire repair kit , compressor and first aid kit in case you
need to repair flat tire.
If bike stops running and we need to swap the bikes , it has to be accessible by
road to support vehicle . We cannot retrieve bike from single track trails and
inaccessible areas.
If the bike is not running because of user error there will be a fee to recover the
bike.
Yes , but keep in mind Nevada , Utah and Arizona are each just slightly smaller or
same size as Germany and have only 13 million inhabitants, combined , compared to 80
million in Germany alone. Since most of population of these states lives in large
urban centers like Las Vegas , Phoenix , Salt Lake City rest of the states are
largely very sparsely populated. For that reason large areas of these states do not
have network coverage , subsequently no cell phone service . In case of emergency
you will not be able to reach emergency services . We suggest you ride with at least
one other rider who can ride to get help if necessary.
Road side assistance insurance is available for purchase . It would cover any
emergency that arises while riding paved roads in the region like running out of
fuel , mechanical failure , lost keys , jump start , electrical failure , accident ,
flat tire . These disablement's will be covered in full and transported to nearest
motorcycle repair facility or rental company , whichever is nearest.
Hotels/motels
Generally chain hotels are available in most small towns in the region , along Interstate freeways and in larger cities. Prices for room with two queen size beds range from $60 to $200+ around more popular tourist destinations like Las Vegas, Moab and most National Parks. If you are traveling on the budget with friends and still want luxuries like bed, hot shower and maybe pool with Jacuzzi four people can sleep comfortably in this type of room . During spring and fall hotels around popular tourist destinations may be sold out so plan ahead and reserve your rooms. It is possible to find less expensive accommodations in locally owned motels and generally they are clean and safe but older and sometimes not well maintained. Las Vegas has huge supply of hotel rooms in same price range but planning ahead is good idea because occasionally its hard to find rooms because of race fans or conventions that are frequent.
Camping
Campgrounds in this region are mostly designed for RV's and campers but most of them will have sections for tent camping. Some have showers but some don't . Some will have ramadas with tables , benches and BBQ grills but some don't . They all have toilets except if they are in very remote places on public lands or national parks. Average price for campground space will run from $25 to $45 . Space will generally accommodate couple of tents with up to 6 people and a vehicle. Most campgrounds with tent camping will have group sites that will accommodate up to 20 people. Prices for group sites very from $45 up to $85 . From my personal experience nicest campgrounds in this region (Arizona , Utah , Nevada) are state owned and operated . If you intend to "dry" camp on public lands it is permitted but on National Parks back-country camping permit is required.

We recommend proper fitting helmet , motorcycle riding jacket and pants with armor,
gloves and off road adventure riding boots . Rain suit is also recommended for early
spring and late summer . In spring, summer and fall we also recommend mesh riding
jackets and use of hydration backpacks to prevent dehydration and heat stroke due to
extremely low humidity and high temperatures.
